ABSTRACT

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of organic and conventional nutrient management on growth and yield of Broad Leaf Mustard (Brassica juncea var. rugosa) in field at Dakshinkali Municipality-2 Kathmandu, Nepal during the year 2016-2018. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design. There were 13 treatments viz. T1 {(24 ton/ha. Farm Yard Manure (FYM)}, T2(6 ton/ha. Vermicompost), T3(4 ton/ha. Poultry Manure), T4(12 ton/ha Compost), T5(1/2 NPK + 3 ton/ha. Vermicompost), T6(3/4 NPK + 1.5 ton/ha. Vermicompost), T7(1/2 NPK + 12 ton/ha. FYM), T8(3/4 NPK + 6 ton/ha. FYM), T9(1/2 NPK + 2 ton/ha. Poultry Manure), T10(3/4 NPK + 1 ton/ha. Poultry Manure), T11(1/2 NPK + 6 ton/ha.Compost), T12(3/4 NPK + 3 ton/ha. Compost) and T13(Control) with three replications. In the study, maximum plant height, number of leaves/plant, leaf size, plant canopy volume, yield per plot and yield per hectare were observed with the treatment combination of ¾ NPK + 1.5 ton/ha. Vermicompost (T6).
